GImageX is a graphical user interface for the ImageX tool from the Windows Automated Installation Kit v1.1 (WAIK). ImageX is used to capture and apply WIM images for Windows XP and Windows Vista desktop deployments. It uses the Microsoft WIMGAPI API for working with WIM files.

The ImageX GUI is a native application for the x86 and x64 platforms that will also work in Windows PE (WinPE). There is also a COM component version included that implements some of the basic functionality for direct use in languages such as VBScript.

To use a keyboard shortcut, or key combination, you press a modifier key with a character key. For example, pressing the Command key (the key with a symbol) and the \"c\" key at the same time copies whatever is currently selected (text, graphics, and so forth) into the Clipboard. This is also known as the Command-C key combination (or keyboard shortcut).

A modifier key is a part of many key combinations. A modifier key alters the way other keystrokes or mouse clicks are interpreted by Mac OS X. Modifier keys include: Command, Control, Option, Shift, Caps Lock, and (on portable Macs) the fn key.

After browsing for a few hours in Safari, it's possible to end up with a dozen windows or so because of links that open a new window (links with target="_blank"). I've always wished there was a way to have these links open in a new tab instead of a new window (sometimes referred to as single window mode).

In the latest Safari 3.1, Apple finally added a (hidden) preference to do just this! To enable single window mode, which forces all links that would normally open a new window appear in a new tab instead, we only need to enable the TargetedClicksCreateTabs preference using the following command (paste it into Terminal):

Put simply, Growl lets you know when things happen. Files finished downloading, friends came online, new email has arrived - Growl can let you know when any event occurs with a subtle notification. The rest of the time, Growl stays out of your way.

Along with letting you know when things happen, Growl also gives you full control over how you are notified and what action (if any) you want to take in response to the notification. You can choose to be alerted with a visual indicator or an audible alert, both, or neither. This program generates an iptables firewall script for use with the 2.4 or later linux kernel. It is intended for use on a single system connected to the Internet or a gateway system for a private, internal network. It provides a range of options, but is not intended to cover every possible situation. Make sure you understand what each option in the generator does and take the time to read the comments in the resulting firewall. This generator will not, for example, generate a firewall suitable for use with a DMZ, but it can provide a starting point.
